Mental Health

Grandview Medical Centre Family Health Team offers a referral-based Mental Health program that provides time-limited individual counselling and assessments for people with mild to moderate, acute issues,  by qualified social workers and psychologists. Our team provides short term therapy for a variety of issues including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety/stress management
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Family and couple relationships
  • Trauma and abuse
  • Behavioural/attention problems
  • Parenting
  • Issues related to loss or adjustment

The mental health team provides high quality, comprehensive primary care mental health services, in a timely fashion while using a collaborative approach, in working with the Grandview Medical Centre physicians.

If you’re having trouble managing a difficult period in your life or if you suspect that you have a mental illness speak to your family doctor or any member or our Family Health Team; speaking openly will help to ensure that you are referred to the appropriate health professional.

If a patient has access to counselling services through an Employee Assistance Plan or other work benefit plans, we ask that these resources be accessed first.
